Middleton Cheney Library Supporters Group was formed in 2011 to provide support and funding to Northamptonshire County Council in its efforts to maintain a full library service throughout the County.

As an informal body of volunteers for Middleton's library we have been successful in providing equipment that allows it to be used by more people from Middleton and surrounding villages.

Whilst library staff continue to offer the full range of modern library services, we have been able to programme and underwrite some twenty events a year – notably Author Talks and regular Films. With the County we are currently exploring the possibility of expanding the building to allow for larger audiences and more activities.

In the past year we can highlight the success of a Valuation evening and especially the October weekend Big Draw. With the support of, what we are told was. The only Arts Council grant to a local library we offered a family-oriented drawing experience to some fifty people of all ages. We plan to repeat our role in the National Big Draw experience next year.

Our activities - most of which are held in the library – are widely advertised and tickets are usually available at the library. Yet another reason to use this valuable local asset and to join the Supporters in their activities.

Events may be cancelled, if ticket sales do not meet a break-even point, one week before the published date.
